About

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
- H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

In the world of weddings, we believe that honeymoons and traveling together as a couple are a very important foundation for any relationship. To see and experience different places together away from the everyday connects us on levels we sometimes forget about. With delicious food, unique landscapes, and memorable people, the world is full of incredible opportunities to explore new chapters both in personal discovery and in love.

Launched in April 2016, Tidewater and Tulle Travels is the travel-focused section of Tidewater and Tulle, Virginia's leading online wedding blog that celebrates love, happily ever afters, and the best wedding dream makers for Southeastern Virginia since 2013. Its mission is to provide beautiful weekly local, national, and international honeymoon + vacation inspiration for the Virginia couple through personal experiences, travel guides, live broadcasts, and so much more.

Tidewater and Tulle was founded by Virginia Beach native and Williamsburg bride, Chelsea LaVere in December 2013. As an experienced wedding photographer completely obsessed with the wedding industry for nearly a decade and wielding a little ole B.A. in English, Chelsea has always had a passion in highlighting incredible local resources through the written word and social media. But beyond the wedding world, she has had an incurable case of wanderlust since she first knew that state lines were meant to be crossed. Like all book nerds, Chelsea loves quotes, and she lives by the words of Saint Augustine: "The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page."

When Chelsea isn't blogging or traveling, she's either being a crazy cat mom of three, going off on local adventures with her husband, or looking for the best gluten-free food. You can get to know Chelsea and her wedding hats more on www.chelsealavere.com.

WHY A COMPASS IN THE LOGO?
"Other than the obvious nod to all things nautical by keeping with our main Tidewater and Tulle branding, the compass has become a pretty significant and personal symbol for me. With a first name that means "port of ships," it's always been a bit of destiny that I'd always find myself surrounded by water no matter which country or coast I'm on. In 2015, it was a pretty dark year filled with personal and heart-crushing shipwrecks, but they gave me the affirmation that no matter which direction I go, my North will always be home, my harbor will always be my husband, and my sails will always be my thirst to love and live life with abandon. Tomorrow is never promised, so the compass is my hope that you chart a course for your own kind of adventure that makes your spirit soar and your everyday meaningful." - Chelsea LaVere
