or engaged couples, wedding planning is tough. It's stressful, it's expensive, and it’s easy to get lost in the beautiful mess that is peonies and Excel spreadsheets. So it is very important to take some time for yourselves, regroup, and enjoy the process... like with a staycation!

Most people don’t tour the city they live in. They get into their routines, their social circles, and life happens. But Richmond-based event planner Lauren of Swoon Soiree is set out to help couples break this cycle and has rounded up the very best staycation ideas in our state's capital with Quirk Hotel, an ultra-chic modern pet-friendly place, as staycation headquarters.

In a city full of history, fabulous food scenes, and outdoor activities, Richmond is one of the best central areas to vacation in and around in Virginia. So whether you're a diehard foodie or outdoorsy guru, there is literally something for everyone in the River City. Grab your favorite weekender bag and read on!
